Thinking Before Acting

Eco-design consists of integrating environmental protection from the design stage. It aims to reduce the negative impacts of products throughout their life cycle. The question to ask today is: how can we do better?

Solutions exist, but they require more time, thought and compromise on the part of manufacturers. The main issue is materials. There are no good or harmful materials, it all depends on the application. Committed manufacturers want to put beauty at the centre of their responsible approach, so they have different processes. This environmental awareness gives rise to new aesthetics.

Curabitur varius eros et lacus rutrum consequat. Mauris sollicitudin enim condimentum, luctus justo non, molestie nisl.

Young designers have already integrated environmental issues into their creative process. They are committed and address new and informed consumers who are ready to accept the higher prices that this approach implies.

A Product Life Cycle

The study of the stages of the life cycle of a product makes it possible to calculate its actual cost and its energy footprint (carbon balance). The life cycle of a solar greenhouse is positive because of the production and resale of photovoltaic electricity. On the other hand, the life cycle of an email is negative, as electricity is needed to power the mailbox servers. We would have to change our consumption habits to see a change.
